★★☆ Intermediate 15-20 min January 10, 2025

Overview

Do you have a pile of scattered notes, ideas, and materials but don't know how to organize them into a report? Cowork can help you analyze this scattered content and automatically generate a logically clear, well-structured report.

Use Cases

  • Organizing meeting notes into weekly project reports
  • Consolidating research materials into analysis reports
  • Generating book summaries from reading notes
  • Organizing brainstorming results into proposal documents

Steps

Step 1: Prepare Your Notes

Place related notes in a folder. Supported formats:

  • Markdown (.md)
  • Plain text (.txt)
  • Word documents (.docx)
  • Even image notes (.jpg, .png)

Step 2: Describe Your Report Requirements

Help me organize all notes in the ~/Documents/project-notes/ folder into a weekly project report.

Report requirements:
- Format: Markdown
- Include: This week's progress, problems encountered, next week's plan
- Style: Concise and professional, suitable for sending to leadership
- Length: 1-2 pages

Step 3: Review the Analysis Results

Claude will:

  1. Read all note files
  2. Extract key information and themes
  3. Reorganize content logically
  4. Generate a report draft

You'll see how Claude understands and organizes your notes, as well as the generated report structure.

Step 4: Optimize and Export

Adjust the draft:

- Make the "Technical Challenges" section more detailed
- Make the tone more formal
- Add needed support and resources at the end

Export when satisfied:

Please save as a Word document, filename "2025 Week 2 Project Report"

Tip: You can have Claude remember your report preferences, and it will automatically apply the same format and style next time.

Advanced Tips

Template Reuse

If you frequently need to generate the same type of report, you can have Claude create a template:

Based on this weekly report format, create a template and save it to ~/Templates/

Multi-Source Integration

You can provide multiple sources simultaneously:

Please integrate the following content to generate a report:
- Markdown files in the ~/notes/ folder
